Varanasi Development Authority (VDA) has planned to construct a total of 100 shops in 20 villages of Varanasi district. The aim of this project is to promote business activities in rural areas and provide proper space to local traders.

VDA Vice President Pulkit Garg has given the responsibility of marking the place for construction of shops to his subordinates. The survey has started.Construction will begin soon. Through these initiatives, better space and facilities are being provided to businessmen in Varanasi.

Under this scheme, youth in the age group of 21 to 40 years are provided a loan of up to ₹ 5 lakh without interest, which is free from installments for the first six months.On successful operation, 10% capital subsidy is also available.
This helps in setting up the business. Smart kiosks are being provided to modernize the shops of street vendors.These kiosks include facilities like electrical arrangements, wash basins, and racks, which make it convenient for traders to operate.
There are plans to build a large shopping mall to provide all local products under one roof for tourists and locals. This will give traders an opportunity to market their products to a wider audience.
