Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested three men accused of spreading fake videos and audio to incite communal tension during the ongoing Kanwar Yatra. Authorities say the plot has links to Pakistan-based handlers.
The accused Mohammed Nadeem, Mansher, and Rahees alias Furkan were allegedly using WhatsApp and Telegram to circulate morphed content aimed at provoking religious clashes in Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, and Shamli.

Investigators found that the group edited videos sourced from Pakistani networks, added AI-generated audio clips, and circulated them during the Kanwar Yatra—when thousands of pilgrims walk through western UP.
