Now a plan is being prepared to build overbridge and underpasses on Kante and Saraiya bypass located on the national highway going towards Lucknow. This step is being taken to prevent frequent road accidents at these two places and to make the traffic smooth.
Currently, detailed survey work regarding these projects is going on by the National Highway Authority (NHAI).Two major places like Saraiya bypass and Kante have been known for accidents for years. There are two big cuts on the highway here, where a large number of vehicles pass every day.
Vehicles entering Khalilabad city pass through Saraiya bypass, while heavy and light vehicles going towards Basti pass through Kante via Munderwa. Traffic pressure is increasing in these areas, which often leads to accidents and collisions.
Apart from this, the construction work of the Khalilabad-Bahraich new railway line is also to pass near these places, which will cross the highway. Similarly, another bypass coming from Badhauli will also cross this highway.
In such a situation, without any structure, traffic problems may increase further in the coming time.Keeping these problems in mind, construction of both an overbridge and an underpass has now been proposed here.
This project will not only control accidents but will also provide relief to commercial vehicles coming to the market.Often, heavy vehicles like trucks and tractor-trolleys use these routes, causing traffic disruption and increasing the risk.
Meanwhile, MP Pappu Nishad had also demanded a flyover in Parliament in view of the problems of this area. It was only after his initiative that the plan was brought to the notice of NHAI and now work has started on the ground.
The survey work is being done at a fast pace so that construction can be started as soon as possible.Local citizens have also raised hopes about this project. They are confident that after the construction of overbridges and underpasses, not only will road accidents decrease but their daily lives will also become easier.
This can prove to be a big change especially for school going children, office workers and businessmen.The administration has also assured that there will be no delay in the construction work once the survey is complete.
If everything goes according to plan, then in the coming years this route will be equipped with modern facilities and lakhs of people of the district will get relief.
