Railway

After waiting for many years, the much-awaited rail project from Bahraich to Jarwal Road is now ready to come to fruition. The process of survey and DPR (Detailed Project Report) has been completed, and this report has been sent to the Railway Ministry.

Now the work of land acquisition and track construction is going to start rapidly. This railway line will not only facilitate the movement of local people, but will also open doors to new possibilities in the field of tourism and business.

Rail project gets new life

For this project, the location survey was started by Skylark Designers and Engineers Private Limited Company of Patna in December 2023. Within a few months, the survey report was prepared and sent to the ministry. Since then, the people of the district were waiting for the next action of the ministry.

It is worth noting that the survey of this railway route was first done in the year 2012, in which its total length was stated to be 69.66 km and the estimated cost was Rs 529.96 crore. But according to the recent survey, its length has now been fixed at 65 km. In view of the rising inflation, the cost has also increased more than before.

Traveling to Lucknow will be even cheaper and more comfortable

At present, the fare of a roadways bus from Bahraich- Lucknow is approximately between Rs 190 and Rs 275. After the construction of the railway line, this journey will be possible for less than Rs 100. Along with this, rail travel is considered more comfortable and convenient, which will give passengers a better experience.

Tourism will get a boost, there will be easy access to the forest area

At present, bus or private vehicle is the only means to reach Katarnia Ghat Wildlife Sanctuary, which causes both time and fatigue for tourists. After getting rail connectivity, the number of not only domestic but also foreign tourists will increase.

Especially Buddhist followers coming from countries like Sri Lanka, Japan, Burma, Thailand and China will now be able to easily reach the natural beauty and spiritual places of Bahraich.

Efforts were being made for a long time

To give this project a concrete shape, former Union Minister and current Governor of Bihar Arif Mohammad Khan had recommended it to the then Railway Minister George Fernandes in the 1990s.

Former MP Akshaywar Lal Gond and Commando Kamal Kishore had also raised this issue loudly in the Parliament.Apart from this, Kaiserganj resident and KDC assistant professor Dr. Satyabhushan Singh also made efforts for this scheme.

This rail project from Jarwal Road to Bahraich is now in its final stage. The DPR has been approved, and soon this dream will turn into reality. This will not only boost regional development, but will also provide employment and facilities to thousands of people.
