UP Petrol-Diesel Price: The central government has increased the excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 2 each. This information was given in the notification of the Revenue Department. It will also affect Uttar Pradesh. Currently, diesel is available in UP at Rs 87.52 per liter. At the same time, petrol is available at Rs 94.69 per liter. The prices of both will not increase by Rs 2 now.
Till now petrol was available at Rs 95.41 per liter in Basti. At the same time, the price in Lucknow was Rs 94.69 per liter. Talking about diesel, till now diesel was available at Rs 88.58 per liter in Basti, while its price in Lucknow was Rs 87.68
The notification said that G.S.R. 220 (E). In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5A of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) read with section 147 of the Finance Act, 2002 (20 of 2002), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary to do so in the public interest, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 05/2019-Central Excise, dated the 6th July, 2019, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Subsection (i) vide number G.S.R. 488(E), dated the 6th July, 2019, namely:-
In the said notification, in the Table, –
(1) against serial number 1, in column (4), for the entry, the entry “Rupees 13 per litre” shall be substituted;
(ii) in serial number 2, in column (4), for the entry, the entry “Rs. 10 per litre” shall be substituted.
