To get relief from the increasing heat, a new challenge has emerged for the passengers traveling in the air-conditioned AC buses of Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation. Recently, the Transport Corporation has announced an increase in the fare of AC buses. This will put an additional burden on the pockets of the passengers.
AC buses fares is increased
This increase may cause inconvenience to passengers. But the Transport Corporation says that this step was necessary to balance the operational costs. Passengers are advised to keep these changes in mind while planning their journey.
With the onset of summer, the roadways has given a big shock to the passengers. With the increase in the heat of summer, travelling in the air-conditioned buses of UP Roadways has become expensive. UP Transport Corporation has increased the fares of AC buses by up to ten percent.
The new rates will come into effect from May 1. This means that the fare of these buses will be heavy on the pocket of the common man in summer.
Till now, the fare in Janrath AC buses in the state was being charged at the rate of Rs 1.45 per km, while the fare in 2&2 buses was Rs 1.60 per km, in Volvo buses it was Rs 2.30 per km and in AC sleeper buses it was Rs 2.10 per km.
From May 1, the fares of all these buses will increase by up to ten percent. As the mercury of summer is rising, the pockets of those traveling in air-conditioned buses in Uttar Pradesh are getting even hotter.
Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has increased the fare of AC buses. Due to which passengers will now have to pay more fare.
Increased burden on passengers’ pockets
The reason for the fare hike is the increase in fuel prices, increase in toll tax and the increasing cost of maintenance of buses. The demand for AC buses increases significantly during the summer season. This directly affects the pockets of the passengers.
Earlier, when winter started, the Transport Department had also reduced the fare of AC buses by ten percent. People travel less in air-conditioned buses during winter, due to which the buses were running empty.
In such a situation, the Transport Department had reduced the fare of AC buses so that people can travel in this bus even in winter. Initially this fare was reduced till March, but then it was increased to 30 April.
The Transport Department says that there will be a discount of up to 10 per cent on fares during the winter season (December to February).
Due to which passengers will get some relief during that time. In summer, AC buses have become expensive along with giving coolness. Passengers who are already burning their pockets due to inflation will now have to think twice before traveling.
The Transport Department believes that this decision was necessary to balance the operating costs. But this time can be challenging for passengers. The fare of UP Roadways AC buses has been increased by up to ten percent.
You can understand it like this that if you are currently paying Rs 100 for a fixed distance in AC buses, then from May 1, you will have to pay Rs 110 for the same distance. The Transport Corporation has made this increase in view of the operating cost and rising fuel prices.The increased fare will be applicable on all AC buses like Janrath, Shatabdi, Scania and Volvo.
