The central government is working on various schemes and strategies to increase the income of farmers. Although there has been no official announcement to adopt Israeli agricultural practices, the government has taken several important steps to improve the agriculture sector.
Major schemes and initiatives of the Government
The central government has approved these two schemes with the aim of increasing the income of farmers. Under which Rs 1 lakh crore will be spent. These schemes will promote sustainable agriculture and improve food security. The Yogi government is giving grants to promote drip and sprinkler irrigation.
The Yogi government is giving subsidy to promote drip and sprinkler irrigation. Small and marginal farmers are being given 90 percent subsidy and other farmers are being given up to 80 percent subsidy on the unit cost of drip irrigation.
For sprinkler irrigation, 75 percent subsidy is being provided to small and marginal farmers and up to 65 percent to other farmers.Dinesh Pratap Singh, Minister of State for Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Foreign Trade and Agricultural Export Department of the state, said that the aim of the Yogi government is to double the income of farmers with the help of Israeli technology.
Under this, a plan has been made to prepare 26 crore plants. These plants will bring qualitative and quantitative improvement in the production of vegetables, due to which vegetables will get good prices in the market.The government is promoting the establishment of FPOs to increase the income of small and marginal farmers. This will provide farmers better prices, financial support and access to the market.
Lakhs of plants will be prepared using high-tech technology
Through nurseries and centers of excellence, farmers will be provided with technical information on improved varieties of plants, fertilizers, organic products, pest control, water management, crop protection and marketing. This will make it possible to reduce production costs and increase profits.
Preparations are being made to strengthen vegetable production in the state with technical help. For this, the Yogi government is taking help of Israeli technology.Under this, a centre of excellence for fruits is being established in Kaushambi and a centre of excellence for vegetables in Chandauli. Also, a network of 150 hi-tech nurseries is being prepared to increase the income of farmers.
This will make high quality plants and modern technology available to farmers. 150 high-tech nurseries are being established in the state. Information on modern farming, seeds, plants and training will be made available to farmers through these centres.
This initiative will promote vegetable production in every district of the state and strengthen the rural economy. The government is promoting organic and natural farming. Three schemes are being run for this.
This will reduce the cost of farmers and will also benefit the environment. The central government is running many schemes and initiatives to increase the income of farmers.
