While on one hand the railways is making arrangements for special trains for the convenience of passengers, on the other hand the delay in regular trains is causing inconvenience to the passengers.
Last Saturday, train number 15103 Intercity Express going from Gorakhpur to Banaras was delayed by about 6 hours, due to which hundreds of passengers were stranded at the station for hours. The train’s departure time was 4:15 pm, but hundreds of passengers had reached the platform at 4 pm itself. When the train did not arrive for 3-4 hours, the passengers’ worry started turning into anger.
Some people were forced to return, while many passengers remained sitting on the platform till night. According to the information, the train stopped at Maniram station and even after reaching Nakaha station, due to lack of space on Gorakhpur platform, it had to stand there for hours.
The train did not reach Gorakhpur till 10:00 pm. Such irregularities raise questions on the functioning of the railways. On one hand, the introduction of special trains provides relief to passengers, while on the other hand, negligence in regular services is disrupting this relief.
