Action taken in UP regarding e-rickshaws, 20 districts received these instructions

The UP government has taken a big step to curb the increasing number of illegal e-rickshaws. The problem of illegal e-rickshaw operation in the state has seriously affected traffic and public safety. Due to which the government has decided to take strict measures.

Illegal e-rickshaws will not run in UP

In recent years, the use of e-rickshaws has increased rapidly in Uttar Pradesh, especially in urban and rural areas. However, most of these e-rickshaws are running without license and registration. Due to this, many problems are arising.

Such as violation of traffic rules, road accidents, and involvement of illegal rickshaw drivers in criminal activities.On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Transport Department is running a campaign against illegal e-rickshaws till April 30 under the smooth traffic.

On the 16th day of the campaign, Transport Commissioner Brajesh Narayan Singh reviewed it.Transport Commissioner Brajesh Narayan Singh said, the campaign was reviewed, notices have been issued to the officials of those districts where the situation regarding the campaign is weak.

At the same time, the officials who were vigilant about the campaign were encouraged.Transport and police and administration officials of the concerned district are jointly running the campaign. He said that in 16 days of the campaign, a total of 18,816 challans have been issued across the state.

In other cases, 16,500 challans, 2316 unregistered rickshaws and 6662 vehicles were seized in the campaign. On Thursday, 45 vehicles were challaned in Lucknow.

The problem of illegal e-rickshaws

Nodal officer of the campaign and Additional Transport Commissioner (Enforcement) Sanjay Singh said that the campaign is being monitored at the government level.

In the districts where the pace of the campaign is slow, notices have been sent to the transport officers of Amroha, Kasganj, Muzaffarnagar, Rampur, Sultanpur, Siddharthnagar, Mau, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Badaun, Sambhal, Shravasti, Jhansi, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Shamli, Maharajganj, Deoria, Hathras and Lalitpur and asked for their response.

In this campaign, a list of 20 districts which have made the best contribution and lagged behind in taking action against illegal e-rickshaws and autos has been prepared.Show cause notices have been issued to districts that performed poorly.

The districts that performed well in the campaign include Bareilly, Lakhimpur Kheri, Balrampur, Firozabad, Barabanki, Etah, Kanpur Dehat, Bahraich, Chandauli, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Chitrakoot, Gorakhpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Ghazipur and Hamirpur.Nodal officer of the campaign and Additional Transport Commissioner (Enforcement) Sanjay Singh said that the campaign is being monitored at the government level.
