A significant review meeting about the Public Works Department’s key initiatives and future plan was held on Thursday by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Public representatives from various assembly seats, senior department officers, district magistrates from each district, and officers from the relevant departments participated virtually in this meeting.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made it clear at the start of the meeting that proposals under the 18 major Public Works Department initiatives must be submitted by June 30 from all 75 districts in the state.

According to him, all District Magistrates ought to meet with local MLAs and public representatives, draft proposals that take into account local needs, and submit them on schedule.

According to the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, development benefits ought to be distributed based on local needs rather than political considerations. Additionally, he mandated that all 403 assembly constituencies in the state receive the direct benefits of at least two or three initiatives.

He added that in order to boost public participation and involvement, local public authorities should start development projects like bhoomi pujan or laying foundation stones.

The employment and development of locals will be connected to religious tourism

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued crucial directives to connect religious tourism to the general public’s economic empowerment. According to him, fifty of the state’s most significant religious sites should be chosen annually based on its significance, historical background, and volume of adherents.

Building and maintaining the roads that connect these locations should be prioritized. According to the Chief Minister, religious sites that are well-connected not only improve the local population’s cultural experience but also open up new commercial and job opportunities.

The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave particular attention to road safety and quality. According to him, no road in the state should have potholes. The two primary causes of traffic accidents are overspeeding and damaged roadways. As a result, it is necessary to locate any dark areas and put tabletop speed breakers there.

According to the chief minister Yogi Adityanath, floods and intense rains frequently cause damage to tiny bridges and roadways. In order for work to begin as soon as the rain stops, suggestions for the regions experiencing waterlogging should be drafted and provided ahead of time.

The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed all of the District Magistrates that each district to choose a nodal officer who would oversee the weekly progress of development projects. Additionally, it should be mandatory for public representatives to attend the monthly and bimonthly sessions.

The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued explicit directives to identify contractors suspected of irregularities and, following an inquiry, take appropriate measures against them. He asserted that only when there is integrity, openness, and public involvement in development can it be dependable and long-lasting.

18 Public Works Department big schemes

Many significant projects for the state’s development and for bolstering the connectivity system are included in the Public Works Department’s 18 key plans. These include building roads to connect the tehsil and block headquarters, developing state highways and key district routes, setting up roads to connect places of worship, and building roads to industrial and logistical parks.

In addition, the cities are building flyovers, ring roads, and bypasses. On the state’s international and interstate boundaries, expansive roadways and imposing entrance gates are also being built. Under the central government’s plans, roads and bridges are also being built, including underbridges and overbridges for railroads. In order to accommodate the agricultural marketing facilities in sugar mill districts, special highways are being built.

These programs also include Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana, road safety initiatives, and rural road construction in isolated settlement areas. In order to connect the north and south regions of the state, the North-South Corridor is also being built quickly. Each of these programs is contributing significantly to the state’s infrastructure development.
