An earthquake of 5.0 magnitude hit Nepal, which caused tremors across North India. There is no news of any damage or casualties so far. The effect of the earthquake in Nepal was also felt in Basti, Siddharthnagar. Mild tremors were felt.
Nepal is located in one of the most active tectonic zones (seismic zones IV and V), making the country extremely vulnerable to earthquakes.
The National Center for Seismology shared details of the earthquake in Nepal and said that the epicentre is located at Latitude: 28.83 North, Longitude: 82.06 East, Depth: 20 km. The earthquake was felt at 7:52 pm.
