UP:This facility will be available at bus stations railway stations

Keeping in mind the better future and safety of young children who get separated from their families, leave their homes or reach bus stations and railway stations after getting trapped in the clutches of some gang, the government is now going to take a big initiative at the ground level.

In this direction, the number of child helpline desks running at the railway and bus stations of the state will be increased.

Preparation of new system

At present, these child help desks are functioning at 23 major railway stations of Uttar Pradesh, but now there is a plan to increase their number to 28.

In the coming time, these desks will also be set up at major stations like Varanasi, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Bulandshahar and Ghaziabad, so that abandoned and distressed children can get immediate help.

Surveillance will also increase at bus stations

At present, child help desks are present only at 4 bus stations in the state, but in the financial year 2025-26, their number will be increased to 11.

Bus stations of Agra, Chandauli, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Meerut, Ghaziabad and Varanasi will be connected with this facility so that helpless children travelling by road can also get help.

Focus also on safety of women and children

The government is also serious about strengthening the Women and Child Helpline Desk. The number of staff working at these desks will be increased.

Additional staff will be deployed in the child helpline units running in all the districts, so that both the quality and reach of the services improve.

Quick action on complaints

Considering the possibility of increase in the number of calls coming to the control room, 5 additional call receivers will be appointed. The purpose of this is to resolve complaints and provide assistance quickly.

Besides, 3 additional employees will now be deployed in the Child Protection Units in all 75 districts of the state, so that the security system for children and women can become even stronger.
