UP government will directly purchase corn from farmers

Giving a big relief to the farmers, the Uttar Pradesh government has started direct purchase of maize at the minimum support price (MSP). This scheme has come into effect from 15 June 2025 and will continue till 31 July 2025. During this period, maize will be purchased at government procurement centers from 9 am to 6 pm.

The purchasing price of maize has been set by the government at Rs 2225 per quintal. This action is a component of the pledge made by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who promised the Auraiya district’s maize-producing farmers that their income would be increased by the state government.

In a number of districts, including Badaun, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Etah, Kasganj, Firozabad, Hathras, Mainpuri, Hardoi, Unnao, Kanpur Nagar, Auraiya, Kannauj, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Bahraich, Ballia, Gonda, Sambhal, Rampur, Ayodhya, and Mirzapur, the state government has established maize procurement centers.

Farmers can contact the toll-free hotline 18001800150 if they encounter any issues throughout the registration or procurement procedure. They can also get in touch with their district’s food marketing officer, the Tehsil’s regional marketing officer, and the marketing inspector at the block level.

Farmers must first register online in order to sell corn. Farmers can do this by using the “UP Kisan Mitra” mobile app or the fcs.up.gov.in website. Use only your active cellphone number while registering in order to receive the OTP and finish the process.

In addition, it is essential that the farmers’ Aadhar card and bank account be connected. In addition, the account must be mapped and activated on the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) portal before the payment may be made on schedule.
