The expressway being built between Lucknow and Kanpur is an important step towards transportation and development in Uttar Pradesh.
Under this project, this 63 km long expressway will start from Shaheed Path, Lucknow and go up to Nawabganj in Kanpur. This will reduce the travel time between the two cities considerably.
Expansion plans, industrial development
There is a plan to expand this expressway to eight lanes. The process of acquiring the necessary land for this has already been started. So that the increasing demand of traffic can be met in future.
Those travelling on the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway will not have to slow down at the toll plazas. These toll plazas will be built on the expressway where there is a ramp to get on and off.
There will be five such toll plazas on the entire expressway.Toll collection will begin on this expressway from the second day of its inauguration. The work will be completed on time.
Strict instructions have been given for this.On Friday, NHAI member Vishal Chauhan also expressed satisfaction with the work. Toll will be charged at five places on the expressway. There will be no toll in the middle of the expressway.
There will be no tolls in the middle of the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway. Usually, toll plazas are in the middle of expressways or national highways, due to which vehicles have to stop and pass through the toll. This will not happen on the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway.
This expressway will also prove to be helpful for industrial development.This will boost economic development in the areas around Lucknow and Kanpur.
With the completion of this project, the travel time between Lucknow and Kanpur will be reduced from 3 hours to only 35 to 45 minutes. This will increase the ease of traffic.
Progress, speed and safety of construction work
The work on the expressway is currently over 85 percent complete. The target is to complete it 90 percent by 30 April 2025. Engineers claim that the civil work will be completed by mid-June 18 km from Lucknow to Bani.An elevated road is being built.
The green field starts from here, which extends till Trans Ganga City. Land from 43 villages has been acquired to build the 63 km expressway.The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is preparing to start the tender process for the 63 km long expressway by mid-May.
NHAI officials have claimed to complete the work of the expressway by 31 July.NHAI officials said that wherever there are ramps, there will be toll plazas. As soon as you enter the expressway from Lucknow, the first toll plaza will be near Miranpur Pinwat.
The second toll will be built at Khandedev.The third toll will be built near Bani and the fourth toll will be built near Amarsas village near Unnao-Lalganj and the last i.e. fifth toll will be built near Azad Nagar.
It is believed that in August 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Civil Aviation Minister Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the expressway.
