Traffic jam has become a major problem in many cities of the state. The government is constantly making efforts to deal with this problem. The increasing burden of vehicles on the roads is now pointing towards development. When the cities develop on a large scale, the problem related to traffic jam will be solved.

New plan of metro in Lucknow

A new metro project has been started in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. This scheme will free the entire city from traffic jams. The traffic pressure on this road will be reduced and the connectivity of the city will improve due to this project and the time of passengers during travel will be reduced by 100%.

The central government is keeping an eye on this initiative and the government has also geared up to deal with traffic jams in Lucknow. Under the Nagpur model, the plan to run the metro on an elevated road in the capital Lucknow has now been approved.

On the Kisan Path passing through Ayodhya Road Polytechnic intersection, there will be a road on the proposed elevated road below and the metro track will run above it.

Experts from the Public Works Department, Lucknow Development Authority and Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation said that the scheme will focus on technical feasibility.

According to a recent letter dated 16 April 2025, LDA has brainstormed day and night on the construction of the structure for both the elevated road and the metro. Let us tell you that the Public Works Department and the Housing Department have also given their approval.

Relief from traffic jam

UP Metro Rail Corporation manager Sushil Kumar said that Lucknow Development Authority vice-president Prathamesh Kumar wrote a letter on April 22 saying that according to the two-tier system, the metro is to be constructed on the upper part of this elevated road.

Along with this, the construction of the metro rail corridor was not possible due to different processes of construction approval and metro construction, but after brainstorming, the responsible people cleared the way for this work and said that if both the processes happen simultaneously, the construction of the metro will become easier.

According to the information received, the Metro Rail Corporation said that if the metro is constructed after the construction of the lift road from Polytechnic to WhatsApp Patra, then the feasibility report will come and in the present and future, the metro is sure to be constructed by Uttar Pradesh Metro.

In this regard, it is considered necessary to coordinate with UP Metro under the plan to build an elevated road under the Lucknow Development Authority.

In this system, two levels will be constructed on a single pillar, the lower level will have a road and the upper level will have the metro track. This will lead to efficient use of land and will save both cost and time during construction.
