There is news of relief for the devotees going to the famous Devipatan Shaktipeeth located in Tulsipur town of Balrampur in Uttar Pradesh. Every year during festivals like Navratri, lakhs of devotees had to face heavy traffic jam near the railway gate, but now they are going to get relief from this problem.
The administration has approved the plan to construct an L-shaped overbridge here, the estimated cost of which has been fixed at around Rs 100 crore. This overbridge will be built on State Highway No. 158 (Bahraich-Sirsia-Tulsipur-Gulriha Road) near Haraiya crossing of Tulsipur at kilometer 68.
The proposed overbridge will be of two lanes and its total length will be about 710 meters, in which 340 meters will be built towards Tehsil Road and 370 meters towards Haraiya Road.
Responsible agencies for construction: Two major departments will jointly complete the construction work of this ambitious project. The construction of the overbridge will be under the State Bridge Corporation, Barabanki unit, while its connecting roads will be prepared by the Public Works Department (PWD) Provincial Section.
Both the departments have started preparing a detailed work plan together. The government has given the green signal to the project and has released an amount of Rs 34.89 crore in the first phase.
Out of the total cost, Rs 36.75 crore will be spent on the construction of the overbridge, while Rs 62.93 crore will be spent on the connecting roads. Administrative officials say that the construction work will start soon.
Tulsipur Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Abhay Kumar Singh informed that the construction of this overbridge will provide relief from traffic jams in the inner areas of the city and devotees coming to Devipatan Dham will be provided with an easy, smooth and safe route.
Especially during festivals and big events, the traffic system will run smoothly. Vehicles going towards Jarwa Road will also get an alternative route through this overbridge.
For this, a new connecting road has been proposed via Bhavaniyarpur, which will make traffic more convenient. Completion of this project will not only promote religious tourism, but the local people of Tulsipur will also get relief from a major problem like traffic jam.
