UP: This road would be constructed four-lane in the district

Four-lane

There is currently hope that the massive traffic gridlock on the Varanasi-Gorakhpur four-lane highway towards Ballia and Bihar will soon be resolved in UP. To enlarge this route, the government has begun developing a plan.

This road will connect Lanka, Visheshwarganj, Roza, and Jangipur with Maharajganj market. This road will have four lanes throughout and be around 17 meters wide. The project is expected to cost approximately 400 crore rupees.

To make this road wider, the Public Works Department is marking government property on both sides. Land that has been encroached upon by the government will be cleared. The plan is in the last stages of development, and June 30 is the deadline for submitting it to the government.

Since it was currently necessary to travel through the city in order to get from Varanasi to Ballia and Bihar, there was constantly a problem with excessive traffic in several areas of the city, including Maharajganj Bazaar, Lanka Chauraha, Visheshwarganj, Rauza, Zamania Mod, and Jangipur.

This road was once owned by the National Highway Authority (NHAI), but PWD now owns it. Even though it is a highway, its narrow width makes it difficult for large cars to pass at the same time, which exacerbates the traffic issue.

The PWD has created a comprehensive plan for this road’s enlargement. The land measurements on either side of the road are finished. The design calls for the road’s width to be extended to 17 meters in order to allow cars to pass without any issues.

In addition, there are roughly 110–110 feet of government property on either side of the road. Therefore, the road can be enlarged without providing any compensation if the encroachment is eliminated.

People will no longer have to deal with the daily issue of traffic congestion thanks to this new plan, which reduces the width of the city’s roadway and allows for more comfortable, safe, and efficient travel.

Another issue with this widening is the electrical poles that have been erected along the route. These poles will be taken down, and the electrical line will be installed underground. The PWD will cover the costs, and the energy agency will create a separate plan for this.
