CBSE has issued an information on 25 June 2025 that they are going to implement a new education policy from 2026.
CBSE has given this information that from 2026, class 10th students will get a chance to sit for another exam in the same year to improve their performance in the board exam.
There will be 2 rounds of exam held by CBSE
CBSE informed that from 2026, exams will be conducted twice in a year of students appearing for class 10th board exam, the first exam will be conducted in February and the second exam will be held in the month of May.
CBSE also said that students from science, mathematics, social science and language subjects can give compartment exams only in 3 subjects. CBSE said that the students who were in the same category in their first exam will remain in the same category in the second exam as well.
The internal assessments of students will continue till the main exam. The process of photocopy and re-evaluation will begin after the declaration of the result of the second exam. CBSE circulated a feedback policy in the month of February.
After all these changes, many CBSE affiliated schools became worried. But CBSE has still given approval to continue the new education policy. Many principals said that “the new education policy will end the learning process of students.”
Principals also say that teachers will not get enough time to teach students, because from February to June teachers will be busy in organising and evaluating examinations, and this will affect the school’s academic calendar, which is not good at all for both the school and the students.
Many teachers also say that if students remain stressed about exams from February to June, they will not be able to perform well. The teachers who conduct assessments and conduct exams teach students from class 6 to 8. Due to all these activities, teachers will face problems in starting a new session from 1 April, and the summer holidays will also be understood.
Teachers also say that when teaching-learning is not being given attention then what is the point of conducting another exam. This will only promote private coaching centers. And the schools which have less teachers will not be able to help the students of their school much for the upcoming second exam.
Teachers also said that the student will be able to take admission in 11th class only after the results of the second exam are out, due to which the student will get late admission in 11th. And if the student does not pass the second exam, he will have to study in 10th class again, which will increase the stress of the student and his exams.
