UP News: The name of Gomtinagar railway station in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, may be changed. This claim has been made in a media report.According to media reports, Gomtinagar railway station could be named after former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who was a five-time MP from Lucknow Lok Sabha constituency.

Apart from this, it has also been claimed in the media report that a statue of former Prime Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee will also be installed in the premises of the railway station.In this context, it has been claimed that railway officials have given this indication.

It was told that in a meeting of the railways, Diwakar Tripathi, MP from the Lok Sabha constituency of Lucknow and representative of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, put forward this proposal.If the proposal is approved then Gomtinagar Railway Station can be named Atal Bihari Vajpayee Terminal.

Hosting trains like Patna Vande Bharat and Kamakhya Express, the station is set to become a major hub for rail services to the eastern states.With better connectivity, movement of trains to Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, Odisha and other states will become faster.

The much-awaited second phase of development is about to be completed. Interestingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated this renovated station in February 2024.
