Permission has been received from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) for metro operation from Moti Jheel to Kanpur Central under Metro Corridor-1.
Now, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the expansion of passenger services at 5 new underground stations in this section namely Chunniganj, Naveen Market, Bada Chauraha, Nayaganj and Kanpur Central. Similarly, TOM operators will be deployed for ticketing of passengers from the day passenger service starts.
Apart from normal tickets, TOM operators also issue NCMC Go Smart Card. They are also given training on ticket vending machines. Till now, during Kanpur Metro operations, a total of 94 passengers have written letters praising the Metro based on their travel experience.
Station controllers are also given training in soft skills to solve the problems of passengers and behave friendly with them.Tom operator, security staff and housekeeping staff have also been deployed at each station to assist the station controller in passenger service.
A private company and UPSSF personnel are jointly shouldering the responsibility of security at Kanpur Metro. More than 50 Safai Mitras have been deployed at 5 stations.
Faster and smarter construction, security, and features
Kanpur Metro is an important step in the field of transportation in Kanpur, the industrial capital of Uttar Pradesh. This project not only provides fast, safe and environmentally friendly travel options to the city dwellers, but it is also a milestone towards a smart city.
They are given training on various situations and systems like functioning of tunnel ventilation system in underground stations, fire alarm control panel, automatic fare collection system, lift rescue etc.
Apart from this, from time to time, safe passenger evacuation in emergency situations, anti-terror mock drills and fire mock drills etc. are also organized. Almost all the staff and officers have been deployed at 5 new stations for the smooth operation of passenger services.
The main responsibility of these new stations will be with 20 experienced and trained station controllers. The responsibility of Kanpur Metro stations mainly lies with the station controller or station controller.
To assist them, various technical facilities are available in the station control room, with the help of which they are able to control the entire station while being at one place. They pay special attention to aspects related to passenger safety and convenience.
Metro trains are equipped with facilities like CCTV cameras, fire alarm, emergency braking system and digital information system for passengers. Special arrangements have been made for disabled people at all stations.
Tracks have been laid in Kanpur Metro without overhead wires.Due to which the visual beauty has increased and the risk of accidents has reduced.
Apart from this, ticketing facility is available through smart card system and mobile app. Which makes it easier for the passengers.
