Passengers are having more and more problems with roadway buses

The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation bus service is currently dealing with a major issue where about 3000 buses are having trouble accelerating on the roads. These buses have no way of increasing their speed on the road.

All of these buses are in extremely poor condition. The information gathered indicates that there is a staffing shortfall to manage them. All of these buses are still parked in the bus depot since the issue has gotten so bad.

Passengers are now compelled to use private vehicles as a result of these issues, which is expensive. It has been observed that while it has become a source of issues for travelers, roads are also consistently suffering significant financial losses.

190 buses are stalled in the capital, Lucknow, for the entire day in relation to this issue. In light of this, Masoom Ali Sarwar, the Managing Director of the Transport Corporation, has censured a number of personnel and made it apparent that any negligence in the repairs should be avoided.

Low maintenance and a shortage of busses

Only roughly 11,000 of the Transport Corporation’s 13599 buses can currently run on a daily basis, according to the Roadways Transport Officer. Due to malfunctions and a shortage of personnel, the buses that are unable to function cannot travel on the roadways outside the depot.

In Ghaziabad, the majority of buses are left parked in the sun all day, preventing any passengers from enjoying the bus service in the capital, Lucknow. When it comes to bus operations, things are really bad in places like Devipatan, Kanpur, Meerut, and Chitrakoot.

According to the data, the capital city of Lucknow, which comes in at number four, has the most buses parked outdoors. Although Kanpur is the region’s regional manager, according to GM Anil Kumar, who oversees operations, the majority of buses in his area are left parked outside all day.

Based on the information provided, Roadways Transport is said to have 700 AC buses in total. 230 of these buses are unable to operate on designated routes on a daily basis. In places like Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Saharanpur, and Meerut, the state of the AC buses is appalling. In the capital Lucknow, more than 30% of AC buses remain parked while in Saharanpur, more than half of them are there.
