The four-lane road construction work on Ramjanaki Marg in Deoria has gained momentum, which will not only improve traffic facilities but will also provide new employment opportunities to the local people. This road project is going to open a new door for regional development.
The wind of development has started blowing from the villages to the towns of Uttar Pradesh. The four-lane road being built on Ramjanaki Marg is now moving towards taking final shape. This much-awaited project is expected to be completed by December 2026. In the last few months, this construction work has gained unprecedented speed.
Now Pokland machines, JCBs and heavy trucks are running day and night on both sides of the road. The work of digging the road, filling the soil, making culverts and laying the foundation of the overbridge is going on in full swing.
Under this project, widening work is being carried out on NH-227 (Ramjanaki Marg) under the Bharatmala Project from Ugrasen Bridge in Kaparwar via Kundauli to Mehauna. In the initial days, there were many complications regarding land acquisition and compensation, but now almost all the disputes have been resolved, which has given new momentum to the construction work.
RMC plant is also active ahead of Harkhauli, from where cement concrete is being prepared. This concrete is being used in culverts and drains, so that there is no problem of water drainage. Soil is being put from Sukath turn of Laar to Chaumukha and Kohra village.
Soil testing is also underway here so that there is no compromise in the quality of the road. The construction work of about 900 meter long overbridge from Kundauli turn to Badhiyan Hardo railway crossing is also in progress, in which 17 piles have already been laid.
At the same time, work is also going on at a fast pace at Barhaj railway crossing. Along with this, the work of service road and drainage system is also going to start soon.
The construction agency has identified underpasses at 88 places so that the nearby villagers can come and go to their villages without any hassle. This four-lane will not only make movement easier, but will also boost regional trade by establishing direct connectivity with Banaras, Lucknow, Gorakhpur and Bihar.
Manish Chauhan, Executive Engineer, PIU, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, said that the construction work is going on as per schedule. The work of two ROBs (rail overbridges) is also in progress, and the department is committed to complete it before time.
He said that some farmers have not received compensation yet, but they are requested to take the compensation soon and not obstruct the work. This road will not only strengthen the traffic system but will also completely change the socio-economic scenario of many towns and villages.
As soon as this four-lane is ready, the picture of every intersection from Kaparwar to Mehrauna will change. Local youth who till now used to go to big cities for employment will now be able to get employment opportunities near their homes.
“We are proud to see such a big project in our area. Once it is completed, our children will not need to go out,” says Ajay Yadav, a local resident.Meanwhile, shopkeeper Sahu Vishal Kumar Gupta says, ‘Now going to Banaras or Gorakhpur will become as easy as going to the village market.
When connectivity increases, new avenues of employment and business will open up automatically. This four-lane project of Ram Janaki Marg is not just going to be the basis for road construction but also for overall development.
