Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently emphasized on the unprecedented growth of the Indian economy and the reforms undertaken towards the development of the country.
He said that India’s economy has grown by almost 90% in the last decade.Whereas the global economy has recorded a growth of only 35%.
This growth is the result of sustainable and inclusive development which is based on the mantra of reform, performance and change of the government.
PM Modi’s 11 gifts will give Kashi a new lease of life
Prime Minister Modi said that India is now moving rapidly towards self-reliance. He mentioned that more than 25 crore people have come out of poverty in the country due to which a new middle class has emerged.
This change is the result of infrastructure development, Digital India, and effective implementation of social security schemes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday gifted projects worth Rs 3900 crore to his parliamentary constituency Varanasi.
Kashi has already got the country’s first ropeway for urban transport, now it has got many gifts including a six-lane tunnel under the runway at the airport. This tunnel will make the journey from Varanasi to the capital Lucknow easier.
Many facilities will also be provided in the tunnel.Since becoming the Prime Minister, PM Modi has laid special emphasis on infrastructure and connectivity in Varanasi and surrounding areas.An investment of Rs 45 thousand crore has been made here in 10 years.
The tunnel to be built in Babatpur will be equipped with 24-hour video surveillance system for the safety of passengers. High quality cameras will be installed. Route patrolling vehicles and ambulances will also be deployed for the convenience of passengers.
CRPF will be deployed on both sides of the tunnel for the security of the airport. IIT Delhi has designed the tunnel on behalf of the Airport Authority. For uninterrupted power supply to the district, the power system will be strengthened and modernized with Rs 584.41 crore under the RDSS scheme.
For this, 16 new 33/11 KV substations and a state-of-the-art e-house are being built in Saketnagar. A GIS technology based substation will be built in Dashashwamedh.
The remaining 14 substations are in Ganeshpur, Jail Road, Sona Talab, Karkhiyan, Sarsawan Basni Lamahi, Niyardih, Jhallupura, Shankarpur, Mahavan.Additional power transformers will be installed at 21 substations. 1277 new transmission transformers of 250 KVA capacity will be installed.
Development of the country and India moving towards self-reliance
Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence that India’s development will continue at a steady pace. He said that the country will progress even faster in the coming years and India will further strengthen its position on the global stage.
These include the Phulwaria flyover, ring road, and wide roads connecting areas like Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Mirzapur. PM Modi said in his address today that earlier there used to be traffic jams even on small festivals. Now the roads have become wide, time is being saved.
Along with the expansion of Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport, projects like a 6-lane underground tunnel, flyovers at Bhikaripur and Manduadih and a new bridge connecting Banaras-Sarnath have been started.PM also mentioned the city ropeway to be started in Kashi, which will include it among the select cities of the world.
Construction of flyovers at Manduadih and Bhikharipur crossing will provide relief to people from traffic jams. A Y-shaped flyover will be constructed at Bhikharipur at a cost of Rs 118.84 crore. It will have a carriageway of 715.73 m long and 10.50 m wide.
The second one will be 299.50 m long and 7.50 m wide. A 5.50 m service lane will also be built. A 684 m long and 10.50 m wide flyover will be built at Manduadih at a cost of Rs 56.73 crore. There will also be a 5.50 m service lane.
It is targeted to be completed in 2027.For the city’s transporters, VDA will develop Transport Nagar scheme on 82.159 hectares of land at Karnadadi, Milkichak, Saraimohan and Bairwan on Varanasi-Allahabad National Highway.
Roads, bus station, bus depot, petrol, diesel, CNG pump station, electric charging station, electricity substation, police station, weighing machine, shopping complex, hotel, group housing, green park, STP, ETP, WTP etc. will be built under the scheme, 265 plots will be developed here.
The residential hostel constructed at a cost of Rs. 76.42 crore in the police line campus will solve the problem of housing police personnel at one place. Also, in case of emergency, the availability of police force at one place will be useful in solving public problems.
There are two Type-B blocks in this 12-storey building. It has 192 houses. Apart from this, electric substation, underground water tank, water treatment plant, construction of CC road and footpath, horticulture and landscaping etc. have also been done.
