To reduce the frequency of traffic accidents in UP, the administration has begun to implement rigorous restrictions. People are now not only being made aware of traffic restrictions, but those who persistently violate them are also facing severe consequences.
All such vehicles that have received five or more fines and whose fines have not yet been paid are being identified by the traffic directorate. Unexpectedly, some cars have been discovered with more than 100 challans issued on them.
Drivers who consistently violate the law have their driving licenses (DLs) and car registrations revoked quickly. In the state, 681 car registrations and 990 driver licenses have been revoked thus far.
According to Satyanarayana, ADG Traffic for UP, severe measures have been taken against individuals who consistently disregard traffic laws. He added that the Transport Department will soon work with him to take action in other incidents.
In major towns like Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur, Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), Ghaziabad, Agra, and Prayagraj, the process of canceling DL is proceeding quickly. In these cities, 596 licenses have been revoked thus far.
In addition to this, 394 DLs have been canceled in the state’s remaining districts. The Transport Department in Uttar Pradesh has received reports of 2,67,030 vehicle registrations and 31,392 license cancellations thus far.
In Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar has the most violations. Reports have been filed against 2,053 drivers in this case, and 587 licenses have already been revoked. Following this, Agra has received complaints of the cancellation of DL for 100 individuals; however, the action process has not yet begun there.
