There will be a power cut in the town and 28 surrounding villages in Hastinapur area of Meerut from 10 am to 5 pm on May 2. This cut is being done under the third phase of replacing old machines in the electricity subdivision center.
The process of technical upgradation in the electricity subdivision centre of the town has now reached its final stage. In this regard, the electricity supply will be disrupted on May 2 as per the pre-determined schedule of the Electricity Department. This information was given by Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Prakash Singh.
He said that the old and faulty VCB (Vacuum Circuit Breaker) machines running for years at the 33 kV capacity subdivision center would be removed and VCB machines equipped with new technology would be installed.
The SDO said that machines have been replaced twice in the power centre before this and this is the third time. The aim of the department is to provide uninterrupted and safe power supply to the general public.
He said that this work is being done keeping in mind the convenience of consumers so that there is no problem of power cuts in future and technical problems like tripping can be eliminated.Prakash Singh further said that on May 2, from 10 am to 5 pm, electricity supply will be disrupted in a total of 28 surrounding villages including the city area.
The department has appealed to all the consumers to complete their essential household and business work before the stipulated time so that they do not have to face any kind of problem.
He also assured that the work of replacing the machines will be completed on time and power supply will be restored immediately after the work is completed. A team of power workers is already ready and will be present on the spot to deal with any emergency.
Apart from the city, there are 28 villages where power supply will be affected during this period. The department has already informed all these areas.
The electricity department has appealed to the consumers to cooperate in this important work of the department and organize their daily routine accordingly. Also, turn off electronic devices after work and avoid unnecessary use of electricity.
