The Uttar Pradesh government has recently made a big announcement that city bus will be introduced in small towns of the state as well. This step will prove to be especially beneficial for those areas where public transport facilities are limited.
The aim of this scheme is to solve the traffic problem in towns and small cities, reduce pollution and provide better and cheaper transport to the people.
City bus will start in towns, a new initiative
The state government has decided to start city bus service in small cities and towns of the state. These buses will be operated mainly on the main routes of the cities. This will help people reach their destination in less time.
This initiative will not only improve transport facilities but will also help in reducing pollution levels. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to give opportunity to private e-bus operators in the city bus service.He also asked to ensure fare, parking, route and also to start private city e-bus service to towns near big cities so that common people can avail its benefits.
CM was reviewing the projects being run in the Urban Development Department on Wednesday.He also discussed future action plans and gave necessary instructions. Yogi said that the Shivalik Park prepared from waste material in Prayagraj is a good model of a center of attraction for devotees and tourists.

There should be 3D interactive models, light and sound shows. This scheme will mainly benefit those people.Those who use public transport and do not have the capacity to buy a private vehicle. In small towns where the option of public transport is very limited, this scheme will make travelling easier.
This scheme can prove to be especially beneficial for women. Because there is more scope for safety and convenience in city buses. Apart from this, the seating arrangement in the buses will also give them a better experience. E-buses should be brought in their place.
While directing that illegal advertising hoardings should not be installed anywhere in the state, he said that electronic display boards should be given preference over dangerous hoardings.Remove illegal hoardings immediately.
There should be clear rules for all urban bodies, which will also become a good source of income. Ensure that advertising hoardings do not distort the statue or picture of any great man.
State government scheme, facilities of city buses
The CM said that all the municipal bodies will have to make concrete efforts to increase their income. After Lucknow, Ghaziabad and Agra, municipal bonds of Varanasi and Prayagraj Municipal Corporation are going to be issued this month.
Make preparations to issue municipal bonds of Gorakhpur, Meerut and Kanpur Municipal Corporations in this financial year. The problem of street dog bites is becoming serious, find a permanent solution to this. There should not be any shortage of manpower in municipal bodies.Immediately recruit for vacant posts.
Where deployment is to be done through outsourcing, complete the process without delay. Before the onset of monsoon, the drainage system in all urban bodies should be improved. There should be no waterlogging anywhere.
Vehicle parking is a big challenge in cities.Parking needs to be arranged as per demand, location and time. There should be uniformity in the charges. Monthly passes should be made for local traders, employees working in shops, offices etc.
Ensure that there is no illegal collection in the name of parking anywhere. He also directed to update the municipalities of the district headquarters as smart municipal bodies.
These will include useful works keeping in view the ease of living like digital governance, value-added citizen services such as monitoring of air and water pollution, waterlogging problem, smart parking, smart light management, exhibition venues, auditorium, vending zones, digital library, promotion of renewable energy etc.
There should be healthy competition among these bodies. Budget has been allocated in this regard. Prepare a detailed action plan. Also, instructions were given to ensure same procedure and fee for transfer, registration and will etc. in all the municipal bodies.
