Under the School Merge Scheme, the state government of Uttar Pradesh has chosen to combine government schools with fewer students with neighboring schools in order to increase their efficiency and resource availability.
In the meanwhile, it has been suggested that, depending on the strength of the student body, the school might be able to provide better facilities such a laboratory, infrastructure, library, etc.

The Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath government has made the decision to combine government primary schools with those with fewer pupils. In this regard, a letter has now been submitted to the district’s Basic Education Officer, with instructions to make a decision by June 30.Now, according to the letter, schools with less than 20 students are under the purview of this order.
According to Surendra Kumar, secretary of the Basic Education Council, a letter has been sent out throughout the district requesting that it be simpler for girls to receive higher-quality education. It has been stated that this is a better course of action for their future.
The letter further states that in order to address the issues of poor educational quality and resource mismanagement in low-enrollment institutions, it is now imperative to guarantee high-quality education.
The District Basic Education Officer has been instructed to choose schools with fewer students and create a database under the School Merge Scheme. These schools will now be mapped out with the closest schools that have better facilities and establishments.
Discussion between officials
The Block Education Officers have now been instructed to visit the area, evaluate the accessibility, inclusivity, enrollment, local conditions, infrastructure, and tax linkage plans, and then present their findings to the district authorities.
The long-term advantages of merging will now become evident as part of this process, which involves speaking with parents, the local community, the teachers’ union, and teachers themselves to get their permission and suggestions.
The council has also been directed to accept advice and coordinate with the district magistrate, chief development officer, and basic education.
Following the merger, a plan is currently being developed to provide a single schedule for school operators. Teachers’ duties have been spelled out in detail to guarantee resource recording, safe upkeep, and appropriate use.
A plan is being developed during this time to establish a grievance and feedback redressal cell in each district for the purpose of addressing complaints and providing feedback where a prompt resolution is guaranteed.
