Which is one of the important states of North India. Now taking another step forward for the passengers, it is making its transport network even more accessible.
Some important steps taken by the state government will make travel easier not only for the residents of Haryana but also for the passengers from outside states.
Expansion of new transport facilities in the state
Many big projects are underway for road construction and improvement in Haryana. Big projects like expressways have made travel within and outside the state faster and more convenient. Apart from this, major routes connecting major cities and towns of the state are being upgraded.
Smart traffic signals and cameras have also been installed to control the traffic situation on these smart roads. Connecting the two expressways will provide convenience to thousands of commuters daily.Presently, vehicles going from Haryana to Agra, after landing at Sirsa, go to Yamuna Expressway from Zero Point via Pari Chowk.
Whereas those coming from Agra via Yamuna Expressway have to return from Zero Point to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway via Sirsa Loop to go towards Haryana. In this situation, they have to travel an additional 20 km.Construction of the interchange will not only save fuel and time but will also provide relief from traffic jams.
After getting approval from the cabinet, the funds spent on the construction of the interchange will now be borne by the NHAI.After completion of the construction, its maintenance and construction, operation and control of the toll plaza will also remain with it.
However, the land on which the interchange is being built will remain the ownership of YIDA. In this regard, the Chief Minister has been authorized to take any policy decision if required in future.
Smart Roads and Highway Networks
The obstacle in connecting Yamuna Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway has been removed. Now the interchange at the crossing of these routes will be constructed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) based on its design and specifications.
On Tuesday, the cabinet of the Yogi government approved this proposal. After which this scheme, which is pending since the year 2023, is expected to be completed soon. After the interchange is built, movement between Haryana and Agra will become easier.
