In view of the increasing traffic pressure in Lucknow and Varanasi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has planned to take several important steps to improve traffic management in these cities.
CM Yogi has directed the officials to ensure better traffic management between Lucknow and Varanasi. For this, measures like multi-level parking, taxi, auto stand and street vendor zone should be included in the master plan in these cities.
Yogi government is going to take a big step to deal with traffic jam
The limits of Lucknow Development Authority should be extended to the entire Lucknow district. This will give impetus to planned and stable development. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a ropeway project in Varanasi.
This will help in covering the distance between Cantt Railway Station and Kashi Vishwanath Corridor in a few minutes.This will reduce traffic pressure in the Godaulia area and make travel easier for tourists. The cost of this project is around Rs 644 crore and it is planned to be completed in two years.
The Yogi government is going to take a big step to provide relief to people from traffic jams in UP’s capital Lucknow and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency Varanasi.The condition of roads is also considered to be a major reason for traffic jams in both cities.
In such a situation, a plan has been prepared to build more than 100 roads in both these cities. They will be constructed in this financial year i.e. 2025-26 under the Quick Economic Development Scheme.The state government has sent a letter to the District Magistrates of Lucknow and Varanasi to implement this scheme.
The aim of the scheme is to reduce traffic problems in cities and provide better road facilities to the public.Many areas including Bakshi Ka Talab, Malihabad, Sarojininagar of Lucknow and Pindra, Narayanpur, Sarnath of Varanasi will get the benefit of this scheme.
Apart from this, construction work will be done in various areas including development block Pindra, Narayanpur, Sarnath, Sarasoli wards in Varanasi. This will provide great convenience to the people.
Letter to both Lucknow and Varanasi DM
For these works, approval and following the procedure will be mandatory as per the rules. Along with the construction of interlocking, CC road and drains, roads and drainage system will be built with modern construction technology.
For this, funds are being arranged under the Quick Economic Development Scheme. All these construction works will be completed in a time-bound manner. Under this scheme, CC roads, interlocking and drains will be constructed on a large scale.
The Rural Engineering Department has been appointed as the implementing agency for these works. Construction work will begin after obtaining environmental clearance and all necessary statutory approvals.According to official information, a total of more than 100 roads will be built in Lucknow and Varanasi.
Through these schemes, the Yogi government is trying to improve traffic management in Lucknow and Varanasi as well as ensure the overall development of these cities.
A new government medical college will be established in Varanasi at a cost of Rs 400 crore. This will improve health services in the city. Also, there is a plan to develop Varanasi as a solar city. This will increase self-reliance in the field of energy.
